The Club, along with the Cranleigh Crew Youth Cycling Group, covers the full age spectrum from youngsters developing their mountain bike skills in the Surrey Hills through to those in their more senior years quietly enjoying riding the local lanes and is well supported with both male and female members. Our rides range from weekend sociable twenty mile road rides with a coffee stop to fast 100 mile rides. Mid-week usually has a members-only evening spinning class at the leisure centre or a variety of outdoor training rides. A healthy number of members also take part in sportive events, league racing, time trialling or multi-day endurance rides.
Now firmly established, the Club’s aims are to continue to provide a platform for our members to enjoy cycling at their chosen level of competitiveness, to build confidence and capability to responsibly ride the local roads in small groups and to encourage more people to ride more often.
Why not try the Club before you join?
Come along with a friend if you like, introduce yourselves and enjoy up to 4 sociable rides with us. New riders are welcomed and encouraged to begin with the easier rides to ensure they are confident and competent riding with others. More experienced riders can start with the longer, slightly quicker rides. Once a member, all riders can move up and down the groups as they feel like each week.
All riders need a roadworthy bike with spare inner tubes and basic tools, a helmet, appropriate riding clothing and enough food/drink to fuel them for the ride ahead. Please also bring a photo ID and emergency contact details, just in case we need to call someone on your behalf.
